Agriculture Forestry School “Josif Pancic“ is a school with a tradition longer than 50 years, and as such, it is unique in this part of Serbia. AFS “Josif Pancic” is an institution for the practice in the field of secondary education comprising: agriculture and food processing, as well as forestry and woodworking. It is verified for eight profiles.At the moment, students are being educated for the following educational profiles:agricultural technician, veterinary technician in the field of agriculture, forest technician, technician for landscape architecture and technician for hunting and fishing in the field of forestry. By means of multidisciplinary syllabus and school programme, a realistic assumption for the realization of high-quality teaching process has been created

. In this process, experts and technicians for mountain management were educated. The basic aim of this staff is a rational use of all available resources of the area with the function of industrial, cultural, tourist and overall integral development of mountainous area.
The Projects of Agriculture Forestry School “Josif Pancic” from Surdulica:
• Development of system of support to rural development- Regional center for rural development, Surdulica • Public works : Afforestation , care and protection of forests in the area of Municipality Surdulica • Providing the school with up-to-date IT equipment and teaching aids • Modern cow milking-Visa for Europe • Diversification of rural economy in the cross border region by means of importing and adopting organic agriculture • Establishing educational center and informing farmers of Municipality Surdulica • Study tour to Slovenia • Investment and maintainance of corals for calves and cows- the development of corals • Students` parliament-adaptation of the roof

Secondary School “Geo Milev „ from Tran has a tradition longer than 100 years. It was founded in 1892, its graduates having achieved great success and shown that the education in Tran is of high quality and very professional. Secondary School “Geo Milev” is a partner of Municipality Tran in the project “clean the city centre and the area around canyon of the Erma River . UNDP funded the pilot project named “Sustainable rural development”. Secondary School “Geo Milev” takes part in a yearly action of the municipality for cleaning the area around the Erma River in urban parts.

For several years, the school has been an active participant in the national project for the transport of children from remote villages into the town and the programme named “a cup of warm milk” with the purpose of providing a breakfast for the students of the first to the fourth grade.
